1) Science Commercialization and Marketing

The objective of this program is to employ a network of expertise to assist in the transfer and application of research and technology in natural resource and life science areas to the industrial sector. Specific activities include:

  1. Assess intellectual property policies, procedures and opportunities in the region;
  2. Establish a Science Entrepreneur Network;
  3. Facilitate bioproduct development on behalf of Innovation Iniatives Ontario North (IION);
  4. Promote and market seA and its member capabilities.
 2) Science Capacity Development

The objective of this program is to seek funding and other opportunities to increase research capacity in natural resources and life sciences in Sault Ste. Marie and Northern Ontario. Specific activities include:

  1. Develop of a database outlining science infrastructure, human resource skills and future needs in the region;
  2. Champion the establishment of a Centre for Invasive Alien Species;
  3. Assess potential to establish a Centre of Excellence in Forest Innovation;
